That rubber stamp is essentially a defacement of the blank back version. With all the MSA disc versions out there with legitimate designed backs, I think this one is an outlier on whether it should be included in the master set. These came to the stores blank and the employees stamped them. And there is more than just one version of rubber stamp that was used. I've seen Albuquerque, St. Paul, Indianapolis, Memphis, and some 20 more cities. Judging by the numbers accompanying the name, there were potentially hundreds of locations, each with their own unique stamp (although some don’t think that’s the case). So … do they all count as different versions? I vote “please, no.” 😁

This may be the only collectible whose defining characteristic is that someone vandalized it consistently. The card company printed one version. Collectors printed the rest in their imaginations.

The man perm in its full glory. I remember when my dad came home with one of these. I've seen a completely different card graded under this same year and title, but it's clearly a press handout from 1983.

Now I don't know French, but I do know that the English version of this card said Schmidt hit four home runs in a game, and Trois is not four. Don't ask me how I know trois is three.
