The saddest part isn't that Tiffany cards exist. It's realizing you've become their target demographic.

1989 ALL-STAR GAME PROGRAM INSERTS-HAND CUT MIKE SCHMIDT
Owned ✅
Mike had retired by the time the ‘89 All-Star Game rolled around, but he was voted in by the fans and even suited up in his uniform for introductions. Of all the not-a-card cards from All-Star Game programs, this one is the least like a card. But if you're going to collect the others, might as well get this one too.
Snarky Says
The least card-like card in the entire run, purchased primarily out of commitment to previous bad decisions.

I left for college with strict instructions for my mother to not throw out my ball cards. Unfortunately, my Baseball Cards Magazine with this panel looked like any old magazine, and it got the heave ho. Technically she wasn't wrong, and now that I'm a parent myself I totally get it, while simultaneously filling my house with eBay crap.

1989 BRODER BASEBALL’S TOP TWENTY MIKE SCHMIDT
Owned ✅
The hardest Broder to Broder. There are actually 21 cards in this “top twenty” set, with the Schmidt being an unnumbered “bonus card” sample. I finally found this buried knee deep in a dusty You Pick listing.
Snarky Says
Some treasures are discovered in ancient tombs. Others are found between a 1989 Donruss common and a bent checklist in a seller's 4,000-card inventory. Whoever invented the "You Pick" listing owes me several hours of my life and possibly a new pair of reading glasses.

ROB BRODER: Hey, what if we didn't crop this photo and, like, left a bunch of sky at the top?
DESIGNER: Uh, how much sky we talkin’?
BRODER: Like … a lot.

One of the best and truly weird unlicensed sets.

This looks like something a time traveler printed at Kinko's.

PSA will no longer grade these. It’s the only Schmidt Broder I know to have been slabbed at one point.
Snarky Says
Somewhere in PSA headquarters, a policy exists because of cards like this.

Whoa, the Sportflics are amazing! How in the heck did you do that?
