A newcomer to the PSA master set checklist (added July 2026). Currently a pop 1 with a 1.5 grade and checklist weight of 4.00. At first I was on the fence about this version being included. I thought the point of a full panel was to show other cards. This just shows … more cardboard. I wanted to learn more. It turns out that these were made for single servings, and they are indeed a different set. Kinda cool, right? I found one for $9 - I was the only bidder. My copy (not the one pictured) is maybe a bit less greasy but has some edge issues. There are at least two different versions of the Schmidt single serving card with dimensions 3 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ (this one) and 2 1/4″ x 4 1/4”, with some displaying brown stains from being in direct contact with the food. PSA labels these as “hand cut,” but I'm curious if that's correct. Were the single servings in a box, or did they have a cardboard bottom (the card) with plastic over it? That's how I remember them. Maybe someone could help me out there. UPDATE: This slot disappeared from the registry in September 2026. I can only guess that the owner sold the card, released it from his inventory, and, since he was the only owner, there was nothing left to keep the slot in the checklist. Weird.

Hostess says the stains are snack cake grease. I'm choosing to believe them because the other possibility would require me to immediately stop collecting these.

Initially I thought this was a strange new white whale I'd never heard of. I've seen the small print Hostess single serving uncut panels with one player. At first glance I thought this might have been … a double serving? A twin pack? Nah, that couldn't be right. It doesn't have the stains, and those black bars on the back were meant to line up the automated mechanical blade, so it must have come off the production line before that point (the top and bottom appear to be hand cut). This panel popped up at 1:30 a.m. from an old eBay alert I'd forgotten to turn off. Why was I up? Don't remember. I didn't think. Just clicked buy. The seller, who told me he couldn't recall how he originally acquired it, had one other similar issue, which I've attached to supporting images. I’ve also attached what the full panel factory-cut 2 1/4″ x 4 1/4” small print issues looked like. Assuming these were cut 15 cards apart, the card above Schmidt would have been #28 John Hiller.

I've seen full panels. I've seen single panels. This appears to be the larval stage of a Hostess panel. It has strong "found in the evidence locker after thirty years with no case number attached" energy.
1977 MSA SPORTS DISCS BURGER CHEF FUNMEAL MIKE SCHMIDT

These were the only 70’s MSA discs I knew of as a kid. We had a Burger Chef in town, but I only vaguely remember going there before it turned into a Hardee's. The only thing about Burger Chef more memorable than these cards is, well, Google the Burger Chef Murders.

That escalated from cheeseburgers to homicide investigations remarkably fast. Few collectible descriptions begin with childhood memories and end with "Google the murders.”
